Miska Zealseal™ Systems - Case Study
King Street off ramp from the Western Distributor at Darling Harbour, Sydney NSW
The Miska Zealseal™ system was selected as the solution of choice for the King Street off ramp from the Western Distributor at Darling Harbour, Sydney NSW.
Upon consultation with project engineers and the project manager, Roads and Marine Services, it was advised that the Miska Zealseal™ 4000 system would be suitable for the installation. The installation involved a significant skew angle across the roadway.
The Zealseal™ 4000 system consists of Zealcrete™ armor edging, an elastomeric concrete with a compressive strength of 65.5mPa that is ideal for high impact and high stress areas where high wear resistance is required.
The waterproofing seal component of the Zealseal™ 4000 system consisted of a nitrogen blown, closed cell, cross linked polyethylene material, which is UV stabilized and is manufactured in such a way that it is free of toxins, non-reactive and chemically inert. Perfect for use as a waterproof jointing material.
The Zealseal™ polyethylene seal has the capacity for 100% horizontal and vertical shear, and can provide three dimensional movements which met the needs of the installation where joint applications with heavy skew angles were a factor in the structure design.
