Polytec at AWISA 2014

At the AWISA woodworking tradeshow in Brisbane, August 6-9, polytec marked their 25-year history and launched three products: the Ravine Collection of Coloured Oaks, imi-beton Flex and Imi-rost. The polytec-designed exhibition stand and timeless 50s inspired hues of the Ravine Oaks, by designer Marylou Paino, was a celebration of material innovation and showcased how its creative application can produce a unique project.

On the back of the festive atmosphere and bright colours that were associated with the 2014 FIFA World Cup, a Brazilian inspired party theme complete with cuisine and entertainment - cleverly set the stage for telling the polytec story.

The Ravine Collection of Coloured Oaks featured in strip form at the stand entrance, with dazzling custom designed pendant lighting overhead - made from matching edge tape. Visitors then explored how vivid colour can be introduced into the everyday without taking over.

Casual small tables clad in the Ravine Coloured Oaks, provided opportunities for gathering and discussing polytec's development and advancements over time - which was presented inside a commanding, rotating suspended drum in the centre of the space.

The vessel's cladding in concrete-style imi-beton Flex 2mm, drilled home the product's flexibility while Imi-rost expressed polytec's 25-years on the drum's exterior with special effect. Likewise the pliable imi-plus Flex concrete-style bench top atop the rear bar gained due attention. Bookending the stand either side was two identical 6-metre wide black wall sections which projected polytec's entire merchandise offer on individual boards.
