Hydro's GRP Drainage Channel is the most sought-after drainage system available to the commercial industry. Made from GRP (glass fibre reinforced polyester), it features expert design and functionality in a lighter form and lower cost range. GRP drainage channels offer an optimum strength and resistance against extreme temperature or chemical buildup, solving the most prevalent drainage problems in public places, parking lots, gardens, and more.

GRP Drainage Channel in Action on the Gold Coast

Home of the renowned Labrador Hockey Club, the Gold Coast Hockey Centre went through a $16.5 million refurbishment in April 2018 in preparation for the upcoming 2018 Commonwealth Games. The improved facility features two certified synthetic hockey pitches, integrated clubhouse amenities, parklands, and an expanded seating capacity from 500 to 5,000.

The refurbishment project also mandated the improvement of the drainage system to ensure optimum safety, cleanliness, and service. In-charge of the maintenance plan, Polytan Asia Pacific partnered with Hydro Construction Products for their cost-effective GRP Drainage Channels. The team proudly delivered the all-rounder, MEA Fluid drainage channel which is perfect for open-field situations.

The provided GRP Drainage Channel has sealable channel grooves and a clear opening width of 100mm, installed with a vertical discharge outlet connector to the inline sump. It boasts a heavy-duty strength as per D210 AS3996 albeit its minimal weight, and was transported then installed onsite without the need for heavy equipment, bolting, or welding. Resilient and highly resistant to corrosion, toxic chemicals, gases, and extreme environmental conditions, the drainage channel has little to no maintenance need hence is economically and environmentally viable.

Hydro completed the drainage system with a galvanised steel slotted grate, which has easily blended with the hockey centre surface. Learn more about GRP Drainage Channel on the Gold Coast by visiting www.hydrocp.com.au today.
