Vesiculated Bluestone for Williamstown Library from KHD![]() Williamstown Library Project KHD were proud to be the stone supplier for the Williamstown Library project. Architect, Sally Draper expressly nominated vesiculated Bluestone to give the facade movement and interest. The 30mm Bluestone cladding was mechanically fixed to the tilt slab concrete panels by Ian Parker & Associates. By mechanically fixing the stone, not only can you hang large heavy panels to the building, but also it creates a vapor barrier, improving the thermal performance of the building.
The stone at the external corners of the building incorporated a bird's beak edge detail and a 20mm rebate was routed into the top edge of the stone panels to express the course work. Sally Draper has incorporated both the old & the new of Williamstown beautifully. Got a project in mind? Contact KHD.
