Wall and ceiling expansion joint systems are available from the Vertos (Vt) product range by Unison Joints. With a track record spanning two decades, Unison Joints has developed a well-rounded catalogue of architectural expansion joints for a broad variety of applications. The Australian-owned and operated company commits to international standards of quality with each product as a recognised leader in the building and construction industry.
The Vt product range includes Vt P, a coverplate type expansion joint system. Vt P is built to adequately facilitate seismic movement from all directions. In action the expansion joint system covers large gaps in the ceiling and/or walls. During seismic, or other movement the system opens and closes... isolating adjacent architectural finishes from damage.
For added functionality, Vt P can be integrated with a Unison fire rating and/or waterproof system. Unison's firerating systems (Pyro I and Pyro B) are tested and certified for use is masonry floors and walls. The Unison fire rating systems are fully compliant with the relevant Australian and British Standards and also the Building Code of Australia (BCA). This is significant because there are manufactures in Australia supplying firerating for movement joints which do not comply. It is important to check for certification.
Powdercoated in more than 1 colour, the VtP is integrated with aluminium paneling on the façade of the Mackay Base Hospital. It has also been recently used at the new extension to Stockland Greenhills.
The product development team at Unison Joints designed Vt P to be assimilated with render, plasterboard, aluminium panels, among other finishes. Vt P can be installed internally or externally in both walls and ceilings. Obtuse or acute angles can be formed at corners where the structural movement joints are situated.
The cover plate of Vt P is supplied in a high-quality clear anodised aluminium finish. The robust alloy is widely used for its outstanding resistance to premature deterioration and hard, long-term wear. Unison Joints also offers a powdercoat colour range for the aluminium covers to complement different interior and exterior styles.
Aside from powdercoated or anodised aluminium, the cover plate of Vt P can be specified in stainless steel. Stainless steel provides its signature polished finish that is sought after in a diverse range of styles. Stainless steel also exhibits hygienic properties to accompany its clean, sleek profile.
Vt P comes in the length of 3.6m with concealed fixings. Specifiers can also opt for a PVC (polyvinyl chloride) gland for external applications.
