Energy Efficient Hydronic Home Heating from Hunt Heating

As consumers become more eco-conscious, there is a growing demand for product options with a lower environmental impact. One of the main home comforts that significantly contributes to the ever-increasing carbon footprint is home heating. However, if you're looking for a solution that's kinder to the environment, energy efficient hydronic home heating is the excellent choice.

For 36 years, Hunt Heating has continuously provided Australian homes with a range of stylish, safe, comfortable, and energy efficient hydronic home heating systems.

Hydronic heating functions by using water to heat the room. The process begins in the boiler as it circulates hot water around the home through a pipe distribution system, with heat emitted from radiators and underfloor heating.

What makes hydronic home heating efficient?

Thermal Radiation

Hydronic systems release heat through thermal radiation underfoot or close to floor level. It gives warmth while keeping lower ambient room temperatures. The system operates by transferring heat without the need for forced air circulation and without heat loss.

Heat Conduction Through Water

Water is an exceptional conductor of heat, this is maximised by insulated circulating pipes to ensure minimum heat loss. As the water cools, it is recycled back into the boiler to be reheated.

Zoning Capabilities

Zoning capabilities enable users to turn off less used radiators and set individual temperatures for each room to save energy and costs. It also helps maintain a comfortable heat at all times. When the room reaches the set temperature, the heating automatically turns off and restarts only when the temperature drops.

The Nest Learning Thermostat is a great example of a device that maximises energy performance. It learns your schedule within a week of use and then self-programs to ensure your home is heated how you like it when you like it.

Efficient Boilers

Traditional gas-fueled boilers produce heat by burning natural gas, resulting in carbon dioxide and water vapour production. These end up escaping through the boiler's flue, taking a huge chunk (20-30%) of heat with them.

In comparison, condensing boilers achieve extra energy efficiency by extracting the heat that would be lost from the carbon dioxide and water vapour. This collected heat is then used to pre-heat the water before it returns to the boiler.

Hunt Heating supplies the Immergas Intec System and Combi Internal and External models which are efficient condensing boilers. The combination boilers provide all hot water requirements from one, reliable source.
