The thermally efficient Kerrie Murphy Building features unique windows that minimise the need for artificial cooling and heating. It also uses the THERMOMASS Insulation System insulating precast concrete sandwich panels.

Aside from being able to contribute to the thermally-passive attributes of the building, THERMOMASS is also responsible for the cost efficiency of this project. Thanks to THERMOMASS being precast, construction of each floor of the building was fairly quick. Plus, there was no need to insulate or install separate stud walls.

THERMOMASS is the only building insulation system that uses fibre composite connectors, which are chemically and thermally compatible with concrete. This helps in preventing problems like spalling and cracking.
