The National Precast Concrete Association Australia (NPCAA) - The recognised voice of the Australian Precast Industry


The National Precast Concrete Association Australia (NPCAA) is a non-profit trade association incorporated in 1990.

It represents manufacturers of factory-produced, precast concrete products, and companies that provide equipment, supplies and services to the industry.

It also provides, among its other activities (see below) technical and marketing assistance to its members and their customers.

Aims

  • To provide industry representation on behalf of its members through promotion and fostering a profile of precast concrete as the preferred building material.
  • To assist in ensuring that the quality of precast concrete products meets the economic, technical and environmental needs of the building and construction industry.
  • To seek a supportive attitude towards the precast concrete industry from governments at all levels, (Federal, State and Local) and from other specifying authorities.
  • To develop and improve standards and specifications for precast concrete, their installation and maintenance.
  • To provide a technical advisory service relating to precast concrete and its application to specifiers, installers and asset managers.

Activities

  • To provide continuous on-demand technical and marketing assistance to members and their customers through its own locally-developed knowledge bank and through connections with international product groups.
  • To provide members with a regular forum to discuss and resolve technical, promotional and public relations issues.
  • To encourage the greater use of precast concrete in the building and construction industry by producing a range of high-quality publications and providing promotional material to appropriate industry media.
  • To actively promote precast design and application through tertiary institutions thus educating tomorrow's designers and specifiers to think precast.
  • To maintain a watching brief on economic, political, environmental, social and community trends that could impact positively or negatively on the growth of the precast industry and its viability.
  • To be involved with Standards Australia by participating through code committees in drafting and reviewing standards and codes related to the precast concrete industry.
  • To operate a website which provides ready access for members and their customers to regularly-updated information on the benefits of precast construction.
