US MARINE CORPS DEMANDS THE BEST

EJ has supplied new trench grating to a large US Marine Corps military base upgrade in North Carolina, USA.

The Marine Base "Camp Lejeune" is known as the home of "Expeditionary Forces in Readiness".

The base is named for Lt General John Lejeune (1867-1942) who is often referred to as "the greatest of all Leathernecks" having served more than 40 years with the Marines.

Large scale drainage works were required for Camp Lejeune's airfield taxiway and apron expansion.

The expansion project is related to new runways needed for the V-22 Osprey aircraft. The Osprey is a Bell Boeing multi-mission, tiltrotor aircraft with vertical takeoff and landing capability.

The product installed is an extra heavy duty airport trench grate - with a large opening of 1200mm wide.

The total length supplied is 3,000 mtrs - or 5,000 pieces of grating. The trench also includes custom cast 45 degree bends.

In Australia, EJ has provided products to military projects such as:

  • Gallipoli Barracks, Enogerra
  • Lavarack Barracks, Townsville
  • Army Aviation Base, Oakey
  • RAAF Base, Amberley
  • RAAF Base, Scherger
  • Techport, Adelaide
  • Garden Island Naval Dockyard
