Custom Displays for Hyde Park Barracks Museum by Allplastics

Allplastics Architectural & Building division is proud to be associated with the refurbishment of the Hyde Park Barracks Museum in Sydney. The project was completed by Zadro Constructions in early 2020 and recently opened to the public following COVID-19 restrictions.

The site - which is inscribed on the UNESCO List of World Heritage under pre-eminent Australian Convict Sites - was closed in January of 2019 for a massive restoration project budgeted at 18 million to reopen as "a rich new, immersive visitor experience like no other in Australia." A wonderfully designed interactive display at the entry of the museum displays the names and respective sentences of various convicts to the colony. The names are printed on 10mm thick Satin Ice Plexiglass supplied by Allplastics. Furthermore, there are many clothes, tools, and other artifacts displayed inside the museum utilizing matt finish Plexiglas Satin Ice as well as many fabricated clear plinths.

The Hyde Park Barracks is a heritage listed site where many of the early arrivals in the colony were housed and employed in crowded conditions. It has been estimated that perhaps 30,000 men and boys passed through the Barracks between 1819 and 1848.

Let Allplastics supply you with custom made museum displays and gallery plinths using unique materials combined with craftsmanship.
