Makmax Australia provided an umbrella-style shade structure at Gold Coast Airport. As part of the Southern Terminal expansion project, the airport's arrival plaza required shade and weather protection for arriving passengers. The umbrella structures were used as a covered walkway leading towards the terminal as well as a shade for the bus pickup zone and the designated smoking area.

In total, 21 Monaco Modular MS50L units were installed by Makmax Australia at the airport. The umbrella structures came with vandal-resistant, dustproof, and weatherproof IP66-rated LED lighting units—these were installed on the canopy's support arms.
