New NDIS Therapy Guidelines and Provider Compliance Updates

New NDIS Therapy Guidelines and Provider Compliance Updates
New NDIS Therapy Guidelines and Provider Compliance Updates.

The NDIA has released new Operational Guidelines for therapeutic supports, introducing important changes to how therapy services must be planned, delivered, and billed under the NDIS. Accompanied by updated Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits (PAPL), the guidelines affect allied health professionals across early childhood, capacity building, and maintenance therapy streams.

A central change is the introduction of a six-point checklist defining what the NDIA considers evidence-based support, now a prerequisite for funding. The guidelines also clarify the distinction between capacity building and maintenance therapy, outline new expectations for early childhood practitioners working in multidisciplinary models, and introduce a seven-point compliance checklist for all therapy providers.

Further updates include rules on billing for supervised allied health students, the stated nature of Improved Daily Living (IDL) funding, restrictions on non-billable therapy formats, and a stronger emphasis on reporting measurable therapy outcomes in plan reassessments.

With increasing compliance demands, modern care software such as CareVision supports providers with structured documentation, outcome reporting, and accurate billing, helping teams stay aligned with evolving NDIS requirements. Book a demo today. Please visit www.carevision.com for more details.
