Energy Star Solar Reflective Paint Coating from Astec Paints

The Knox Civic Centre has been treated with Astec's Energy Star coating, which reduces its internal temperature by 7-10 degrees.

Removing the need for air conditioning is achievable when Astec Paints' Energy Star coating is applied to roofing. It reflects 90 per cent of solar radiated and ultra violet heat, resulting in a 7-10 degree cooler internal temperature.

The coating comes in 44 colours, has a 15-year warranty and has a life expectancy 10 times that of normal paint.

Operating out of the same Bayswater facility is Cocoon Coatings, which specialises in the application of all Astec Paints products. Using solar reflective coatings means there is less demand for power generation. This results in less greenhouse gas emissions (CO2) while also helping to combat global warming, reducing a client's carbon footprint and delivering real cost savings.
