Sub-Floor Ventilation to Prevent Off-Gassing from Envirofan

When sub-floor ventilation is absent or inadequate, off-gassing from organic substances enters the habitable area and manifests with a pungent odour or a musty smell. This decreases the air quality inside the home and creates excess humidity levels that may encourage termites as they are attracted to moisture.

When sub-floor ventilation is administered, this is likened to letting the bath plug out and releasing the water contained within the vessel. Inadequate sub-floor ventilation is very similar in principle where the organic odours are redirected from the habitable area and drawn toward the Envirofan sub-floor ventilation system (the drain) by way of an extraction process.

Positive pressure sub-floor ventilation systems can make matters worse. Odours can be forced into the habitable area at an accelerated rate by inducing air into the sub floor area.

However, the advantages of Envirofan are miles ahead of the rest, as we can install various Envirofan systems to extract the air from the sub-floor area. By way of low-voltage fans and the process mentioned above, homeowners can avoid big, noisy in-line fan systems, 150mm ducting, branch take offs, dampers, and more, which just clog the sub-floor area even further.

Envirofan has the know-how and products to adequately ventilate your sub-floor area; "If it is not Envirofan, it isn't one," so for more information, visit www.envirofan.net.au.
