The buildings have had water penetration problems
for over 10 years with water coming in through the
roof, balconies and walls.
The Body Corporate engaged Paul Rappaport of
The Rapp Report who specialises in Remedial work
to advise them on the best way to solve the buildings
problems.

Rappaport developed a staged plan for bringing
the building up to scratch over a 3 year period.
The water problems were among the first issues
addressed. Because of the value of the units and
the fact that pervious waterproofing attempts had
failed Rappaport recommended the Wolfin Waterproofing
System be used to waterproof the roof and balconies
and to replace defective cavity flashings.
Wolfin was chosen because of its total reliability
and track record in waterproofing structures where
other systems had failed. The involvement of the
Wolfin people and their supervision of the works
was also a key decider.
April Showers, experienced licensed Wolfin applicators
and builders, were awarded the contract to carry
out the waterproofing and associated works.
After waterproofing the roof and balconies April
replaced faulty cavity flashings with the Wolfin
system - using the Wolfinsteel profile system together
with Wolfin sheet membrane to ensure a cavity flashing
which was continuous and was welded direct to the
deck membrane leaving no area unwaterproofed.
The recent rains established that the complex
was watertight for the first time in over 10 years.
