Heritage Fountain Waterproofing with Wolfin PVC Membrane by Projex Group Waterproofing heritage structures demands technical precision without compromising visual integrity. At the Governor Phillip Fountain and the Old Parliament House Fountain within the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney, Projex Group delivered a solution that combined performance with architectural sensitivity using the Wolfin Polyester PVC Membrane system. At the heritage-listed Governor Phillip Fountain, previous waterproofing had failed, requiring renewal of the four lower basins. The membrane needed to remain permanently submerged while resisting exposure to hydrogen peroxide, bromine, chlorine and hydrochloric acid. Compliance with AS 4654.1, UV resistance and flexibility were essential, and no mechanical fixings were permitted to penetrate the marble stone perimeter. Wolfin IB 1.5mm unreinforced membrane in grey was selected to complement the existing render. Custom Wolfinsteel 316L stainless-steel profiles were factory bonded and chemically adhered to the marble to ensure watertight termination without mechanical penetration. Installed by Wolfin-certified SSP Waterproofing, the project demonstrates how advanced membrane systems can meet stringent performance demands while preserving heritage aesthetics.
