Austech External Building Products Launch A
New Range Of External House Cladding.

Austech has added a new profile to its range of Vinyl cladding, with a sleek modern contour that creates clean lines and a deep shadow. DuraPlank is reminiscent of traditional house cladding, creating the look of simple flat weatherboards laid over each other, while providing all the benefits of vinyl wall cladding.

DuraPlank Vinyl Wall Cladding is available with added 20mm or 30mm foam backing, providing added insulation to your home. This is ideal for old houses that are reclad because you don't have to rip the walls off to add insulation. DuraPlank is also good for new homes because it provides a continuous thermal barrier, not just fills in gaps between wooden studs.

DuraPlank Vinyl Cladding is exterior cladding built for modern Australian homes. It features Duratechnology, a patented colour protection process that creates longer lasting colour and an impact resistant board. Austech is so confident in this, that we offer a 50 year product manufacturers warranty, providing you peace of mind and maintenance free living.

When compared to its competitors, vinyl cladding outshines them on all fronts:

Fibre Cement Weatherboards: looks great when installed, but quickly deteriorates. Boards shrink and expand in the Australian sun, degrading paint and damaging seams that then require re-caulking. Fibre cement also has low thermal resistance, and unlike exterior vinyl cladding, it does not have added insulation.

Aluminium Exterior Cladding: Popular in the 90's, but it just can't keep up with vinyl today. Aluminium cladding is maintenance free, but it generally costs 3-4 times as much as vinyl. Aluminium wall cladding, like an aluminium can, is easily dented and scratched and can't be repaired. Many owners find it's more cost effective to re-clad their whole home in vinyl than repair their damaged aluminium cladding.

Wooden Weatherboards: Traditional weatherboards cost a lot to install, but there is also the annual hassle of sanding, re-painting and repairing that you don't see straight away. All wooden products also are vulnerable to termites and bushfires, making wooden cladding impractical for Australian homes.
