Vertical Gardens for Lady Cilento by Elmich

The successful development of the healthy, green vertical gardens of the Lady Cilento Children's Hospital has been made possible with Vertical Growing Modules (VGM) by Elmich. This public hospital is the single specialist paediatric hospital in Queensland that looks after some of the most urgent children's medical cases across the state. To ensure utmost comfort and to promote health for patients and their guests, the Lady Cilento decided to breathe in new life to her outdoor space by building vertical gardens and a pitched green roof.

Vertical Growing Modules (VGM) by Elmich are made up of lightweight but robust structural panels, pre-planted in a nursery environment then supplied ready for installation. In the case of the Lady Cilento Children's Hospital, the VGM were suspended in columns then bolted to form the vertical green wall. They ultimately created a healthy and flourishing environment, while at the same time providing natural thermal and acoustic protection. These vertical growing modules also provided an excellent aesthetic upgrade, complementary to the architecture of the hospital.
