Dulux Colour Awards will be displayed at DesignEx in Sydney from 6-8 April

The minimalist schemes of the late '90's and early years of this century have been replaced with bright, bold and daring combinations of colour both in the residential and commercial categories.

The entries displayed a vibrant, joyful and eclectic approach to the use of colour with bright pinks (Lickedy Lick), true reds (Hot Lips) and lime greens (Tarpon Green) dominating many of the schemes.

Not only was there a strong trend towards brighter colours but a broader palette - most schemes used more than six different colours creating an exciting visual smorgasbord.

The 2006 judging panel gathered some of the design industry's most esteemed professionals: Debbie-Lyn Ryan (McBride Charles Ryan), 2005 Grand Prix winner; Iain Halliday (Burley Katon Halliday), a director of the most awarded firm in the Awards' 20 year history; Anny Friis, editorial director Australian House and Garden; and Peter Travis designer and lecturer in colour and one of the judges of the inaugural awards.

All winning entries will be displayed at DesignEx 2006 in Sydney from 6-8 April 2006.
