YAG Laser Engraving on Metal from Architectural Signs Sydney

A YAG laser generates the laser beam in a different manner, which gives it the ability to laser mark different products and substrates.

More importantly, the fibermark or the YAG lasers can usually engrave products that a CO2 has difficulty with. These difficult materials include various plastics and metals.

What Can Lasers Do?

Laser marked vs laser engraved
Both refer to the use of a laser but laser engraving usually means that you are obtaining a deeper 'cut' into the product whereas as laser marking simply scores the surface with minimal depth.

If you were to look around your office right now, you'll see something that has been touched by a laser. Everything from the serial number on your mobile phone to the company logo on your tools has more likely than not, been touched by a laser.

Previously industrial marking usually involved some sort of mechanical method of engraving. But today, lasers are becoming a steadfast component of industrial marking due to their ability to create hi resolution graphics at a very rapid rate.

Metal
Tools, knives, assorted machined parts and ID plates are all common types of metal products that require industrial laser marking. The automotive and manufacturing industries all require some sort of identification on their parts and are ideal for lasers.

You can also decoratively laser mark electronic pieces such as iPods and iPad's with lasers (*Internet source). Other common uses are to add logos on items such as pens and key rings to promote your company as well as marking to help prevent theft.

We use an accurate CO2 or YAG laser engraving systems that can produce highly detailed patterns by engraving the anodized aluminum surface of the iPad's back panel, creating a mark that can be either lighter or darker than the background depending on the angle it is being viewed from and the type of backing used.
