Point Boston Peninsula Club by Makmax AustraliaMakmax Australia is proud to be a part of the ocean-front venue and attraction, the Point Boston Peninsula Club- located on the coast of a $450 million environmentally sustainable residential community, the South Australia's Eyre Peninsula. The iconic venue features Makmax Australia's eye-catching and unique glass-house design and a custom-designed membrane roof- which together creates a natural dining experience with a spectacular view of the coasts.
For the building of the Point Boston Peninsula clubhouse facility, the project needed a design that plays well with the beauty of the coastline while maintaining the peninsula's natural charm and heritage. Makmax Australia's tensile membranes provided a lightweight and flexible material that allowed the architect to design a stunning roof structure which will look equally captivating by daylight as it is during the night- with artistic lighting.
The Point Boston Peninsula Club project won an Outstanding Achievement for Makmax Australia at the STA Australian Textiles Industry Awards 2009 and an Excellence award at the IFAI International Achievement Awards in 2009. The flexibility, durability, and sustainability of the tensile material supplied by Makmax made it a perfect choice for this project.
