The Fire Company unveils the EcoSmart STIX by Hiroshi Tsunoda

Bioethanol fireplace pioneer The Fire Company has unveiled a new outdoor EcoSmart Fire for winter. Designed by Barcelona-based designer Hiroshi Tsunoda, the EcoSmart STIX is a contemporary stainless steel fire design that evokes the mood and magnetism of a traditional campfire.

"I love the concept of EcoSmart Fire," Hiroshi says. "No fumes, no smoke, but the concept still guards the traditional warmth of fire. I really wanted to create something new with this product and thought it would be challenging for me to create an attractive centrepiece combining EcoSmart Fire with my unique design style."

Known for exploring the possibilities of geometric figures, Hiroshi's unique EcoSmart Fire STIX is both visually striking and practical - particularly in an outdoor environment. Consisting of varying-sized tubular stainless steel sticks secured around an efficient three-litre bioethanol burner, EcoSmart Fire STIX is testament to the design versatility of bioethanol fire design.

The EcoSmart STIX is fully portable - with no need for a utility connection - and can be positioned in any alfresco (or certain indoor) environment. Its three-litre bioethanol burner burns for up to eight hours.

At the recent designEX 2011 the EcoSmart STIX won a new product award for innovation.
