Historic House waterproofed for the long term with Wolfin System

Elizabeth Bay House, in Elizabeth Bay, Sydney, was designed in the 1830's by the very fashionable architect of the time, John Verge. The building was commissioned by the Colonial Secretary Alexander Macleay. The construction was completed in 1839. The land, comprising some 54 acres on the harbor foreshore was given as a grant to Macleay by Governor Ralph Darling.

In recent years it has been listed by the Historic Houses Trust and has been largely restored. As part of the recent renovations the ground floor bathrooms (over sensitive areas) had to be waterproofed. The Trust insisted on a system that would not need to be replaced for a long time and the architects accordingly insisted on the Wolfin System.

The Wolfin System has been used on many Historic buildings of Sydney including NSW Parliament House, Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Government House and the Sydney Town Hall. The project was carried out using the Wolfin GWSK System, complete with Stainless Steel profiles (due to the close proximity of the salt water of Sydney Harbour) & was installed by BD Remedial Builders, experienced Wolfin applicators.
