Foamglas® Perinsul S is one of the products from the range of sustainable thermal insulation boards for wall constructions from Bellis Australia. High-density Perinsul S is designed to eliminate structural thermal bridging, which causes heat to escape from the thermal building envelope.
Foamglas® cellular glass insulation is renowned for its compressive strengths and exceptional thermal properties that last for the duration of a building's lifetime. The same foundations are integrated into the design of Perinsul S thermal insulation board.
Perinsul S is made with specially graded recycled glass and natural raw materials like sand, dolomite and lime. The upper and lower surface of the inorganic thermal insulation board is coated in bitumen and glass-reinforced fleece.
Compared to other Foamglas® products, Perinsul S showcases superior compressive strength and higher density. The thermal insulation board stands at 2.9N/mm2 with a load-bearing capacity of 1N/mm2. Perinsul S is able to support the load of masonry walls, without the need for an additional support structure.
The thermal insulation boards help create an effective insulated joint between vertical wall insulation and horizontal floor or roof insulation like parapet walls and floor to wall base element. It can also be used on access points and as support for roof trusses.
Here is the complete list of the exceptional properties of Foamglas® Perinsul S Thermal Insulation Board:
Time-Tested Thermal Performance
Due to its hermetically-sealed, closed cellular glass structure, Foamglas® Perinsul S is able to maintain high R-values all year round. Therefore ensuring reliable energy-savings capacity and comfortable indoor climate.
Waterproof and Vapour Control
The capillary action of the closed cellular matrix of Foamglas® prevents water absorption, penetration and tracking. Perinsul S is also resistant to acid and chemicals, as well as water-vapour transmission.
Vermin proof
Foamglas® Perinsul S is ideal to use in applications where insulation is installed behind a façade or in contact with the ground as the thermal insulation board is completely inorganic. This means it is resilient against premature degradation, vermin attack and will not become a breeding ground for mould and mildew proliferation.
Compressive Loads
Foamglas® Perinsul S offers the ideal insulation solution for applications where load-bearing capacity is a factor, such as foundations, floors, walkways, terraces, podium roofs, balconies and carparks. It is able to support high compressive load demand without deflection or movement.
Non-combustible and Fireproof
Foamglas® Perinsul S is a non-combustible and non-toxic material. It cannot contribute to a fire, produce fumes or put a building structure in fire risk.
Dimensionally Stable
The thermal insulation board has a low coefficient of thermal movement. It can be directly applied to the structure by adhesive bonding to eliminate thermal bridging.
Environment-friendly
Foamglas® Perinsul S thermal insulation board is manufactured with 66% post-consumer waste glass and can be recycled into a new material. It does not HCFC, HFA and pentane.
All Foamglas® products are compliant with Building Regulations and have Agrément Certification.
