Roof Top Car Park Concrete Protection from Radcrete![]() Macquarie Shopping Centre still watertight after 20 Years SITE DETAILS:COUNTRY: Australia SITE: Macquarie Shopping Centre PROPIETOR: AMP Assets Management ARCHITECTS: Buchan ENGINEERS: Hyder APPLICATOR: Kratrim TREATED AREA: Roof top car park SIZE: 5,000 square metres It has been 20 years since Radcon Formula #7 was applied to the roof-top car park, of the Macquarie Shopping Centre, Sydney: one of the largest shopping centres in Australia at the time it was completed. There has been no evidence of any leakage or degradation of the slab since its completion. On a recent visit, Radcrete Executive Director Michael Rorke stated that the slab is in excellent condition. Radcrete has been waterproofing shopping centres for over 25 years. In that time, there have been no reports, nor evidence, of Radcon Formula #7 failing. In several cases, the client required that the roof be ponded following application, to prove Radcon Formula #7 did give a watertight seal. In each instance, including under a pressure head of water no leakage was experienced. Radcon Formula #7 was tested by SINTEF Norway to 400 metres, at which it was still maintaining a watertight seal.
