Some of the most helpful fabrics from Colan are texturised fibreglass that is woven using either 6μm or 9μm diameter texturised e-glass yarns. These yarns have increased thickness and volume as they go through an air-bulking process to enhance insulation properties.

Texturised fibreglass can offer acoustic insulation wherein it can lessen popping noises that usually occur when working with fire or high heat elements. This material also offers moderate resistance to chemicals, oils, grease, water, and abrasion.
