Elmich Modular Extensive Planting Trays (MEP Trays) We recently completed a project using Elmich Modular Extensive Planting Trays (MEP Trays). MEP Tray is essentially a shallow planter designed specifically for extensive planting over roof tops, it takes care of water storage, drainage and provides an environment for the plants to succeed. The 500x500mm trays with integrated water storage and drainage are designed to reduce maintenance by ensuring good water retention. At this project in Eastern Sydney, 500 MEP Trays cover 126m2 of exposed roof top. Each MEP Tray stores up to 7 litres, that means the plants are sustained by 3500 litres of stored rainwater. This massively reduces reliance on irrigation. Excess rainwater is drained via a network of drainage pipes.
