Sandblasting Techniques Sydney from Architectural Signs

Depending on your requirements and desired outcome there are many engraving techniques available for you to consider.

Another engraving technique is sandblasting.

This is surface treatment in which steel grit, sand, or other abrasive material is blown against an object to produce a roughened surface or to remove dirt, rust, and scale.

It is a general term used to explain the act of driving very fine bits of material at high-velocity to clean or etch a surface. Sand is the most commonly used material, but since silicosis (a lung disease) is caused by extended inhalation of the dust created by sand, other materials are now used in place of sand. Any small, moderately uniform particles will work, such as steel grit, copper slag, walnut shells, powdered abrasives, even bits of coconut shell. Due to the threats of inhaling dust during the process, sandblasting is carefully controlled, using an alternate air supply, protective wear, and proper ventilation. Due to the high density of these materials they settle down speedily and provide a dustless environment for the workers to perform their tasks.*

Our state of the art sandblasting system allows us to etch basically any material including glass, crystal, stainless steel and many others. It is a very cost effective way of etching.
