Innovative Braille Signs from Hillmont Signs

braille signs

Hillmont Signs is one of the most successful and innovative manufacturers of Braille in Australia and have been manufacturing and supplying Braille / tactile and general signage solutions throughout Australia for over 15 years from our Northwest Sydney location (now based at Castle Hill).

Terry Davidson, who established Hillmont Signs in 1994 and sold the company to Architectural Signs in mid 2008, has stayed on as Hillmont's Production and Sales Manager. Terry is one of Australia's most experienced manufacturers of Braille signage, having started making Braille signs before they were a B.C.A. requirement in all public buildings.

High profile projects include the award-winning wayfinding system at the University of Sydney, many of the facilities for the Sydney 2000 Olympics as well as the Epping to Chatswood railway and Braille signs inside the new Oscar railway carriages.

You are most welcome to visit our Castle Hill showroom and factory, email us or phone to discuss your needs (see contact details). Samples can also be provided.

We have a large range of standard high impact U.V. stable acrylic signage in stock as well as being able to manufacture non-standard colours, materials and designs to your specifications. They are stand-alone signs able to be mounted directly to any flat surface without the need for a backing plate. Materials include acrylic, brass, aluminium and stainless steel.

Braille, symbols and text are all solvent bonded to the surface of the sign ensuring a permanent bond.

Hillmont Signs uses Grade 1 U.E.B. (Unified English Braille) which is the current standard for Braille in Australia with all of our designs meeting or exceeding the requirements of D3.6 of the Building Code of Australia and AS1428.1 of the Australian Standards. We are also able to advise you on the compliance of your designs.

We also offer a range of other signage solutions for your business including outdoor signage, reception signage, interior signage, and vehicle signage catering to the needs of your office offered through Architectural Signs (parent company).
