The R Bar is designed to meet the following standards:

- Hot dipped galvanised to AS/NZ 4680:2006.
- R3 Durability rating in accordance with AS/NZS 2699:2002

The R Bar is ribbed for extra strength. The holes into the lintel, together with the bricks for a composite beam. Budabar steel lintels are lightweight and cost effective.
