Waterco helps boost revolution in urban farming

This particular 'farm to fork' concept is the creation of U Need Farm, which grows thousands of plants vertically on its 8,000 square feet plot in Puchong, Selangor, to help Malaysian urbanites live healthier, more sustainable lives. Helping maintain healthy water, reduce maintenance, and ensure high-quality produce is a sophisticated water filtration system designed and manufactured in Kuala Lumpur by ASX-listed Waterco (ASK:WAT).

Aquabiome Filtration

Designed for ponds and water gardens, Aquabiome provides mechanical and biological filtration in a single housing. Its ability to support concentrated populations of nitrifying bacteria - reliably and consistently - makes it especially suitable for high-density recirculation systems.

Hydrostorm Pumps

A specially engineered impeller and diffuser design maximizes the hydraulic output of Hydrostorm pumps while minimizing turbulence. This shortens run times and reduces energy consumption, leading to lower operating costs.

The pump body is manufactured using Waterco's proprietary plastic injection moulding that features a single piece strainer pot and volute for extra strength. High-grade 316 stainless steel mechanical seal is incorporated for further corrosion resistance.

Urban agriculture is part of a local food system where food is produced within an urban area and marketed to surrounding consumers.
