Security, performance and design come together at St Bernards College in Essendon West, Victoria, where four electrically operated extruded aluminium security roller grilles have been installed as part of The Quays Project.

Specified by Chandler Architects and delivered with project manager and builder 2 Construct, the grilles secure the college's new canteen area while supporting the demands of a busy educational environment. Their open design maintains visibility and ventilation, helping the space remain connected and welcoming when the canteen is not in use.

The extruded aluminium construction provides a durable security solution for a high-traffic setting, while the electrically operated system supports efficient daily access and closure. A Dulux Monument powdercoat finish was selected to coordinate with the surrounding interior materials, allowing the grilles to integrate with the contemporary architectural scheme rather than appear as an additional security layer.
