The trouble with some thermal insulation products, especially the ones used for metal pipes, is that they are combustible. If you need a high level of fire resistance for your facility, consider using the intumescent wrap for insulated metal pipes by Promat.

The PROMASEAL FlexiWrap can offer a fire resistance level of up to -/240/120. This has been tested for copper pipes that go through concrete or masonry walls and floors, as well as lightweight partitions that have the same or greater FRL. Take note that it has not been tested on plastic pipes.

Promat supplies the PROMASEAL FlexiWrap in rolls with a standard size of 850mm x 450mm x 6mm. It has a dark grey colour, and its expansion temperature is 185 °C with an expansion ratio of 1:9. This product does not contain any VOC.
