This enormous cable stay bridge towers over the entrance to the Saigon River and can be seen from most parts of Ho Chi Minh City.

It is a huge bridge and the total width span of the deck is more than 27 metres. This incorporates three lanes of traffic in each direction, 2 car and truck lanes, a separate motorcycle lane and footways for pedestrians.

It forms part of the ring road around the city, becoming a vital part of the south eastern section of the ring road and an important transport link connecting the southern Mekong delta region to the central and northern parts of Vietnam.
