Caramelised Woven Fabric by Colan Heat-treated fabric, also known as caramelised woven fabric, is manufactured in a high-temperature oven. Fibreglass loomstate fabric passes through the oven and, in the process, burns off imperfections and oils that said fabric may have attracted during the weaving. Colan offers both plain and texturised caramelised fabric to suit your needs. When a fabric is heat-treated, it will not emit smoke, even when it is utilised in high-temperature applications. Aside from having a good fire rating and low smoke emission, caramelised fabric can also reduce dust formation. It has a maximum operating temperature of 600°C and a continuous operating temperature of 550°C. As for weatherproofing, anti-abrasion, water repellence, chemical resistance, and oil resistance, the heat-treated fabric only has moderate material performance. Colan supplies the caramelised woven fabric in rolls. To order heat-treated and other specialty fabrics, you may contact the knowledgeable staff at Colan or you may visit www.colan.com.au.
