Alkaline Fresh Grout Remover and Efflorescence from Dry-Treat![]() How to work with Acid-Sensitive Surfaces Efflorescence and fresh grout are traditionally removed using acids such as phosphoric acid or white vinegar. On many surfaces this works fine. However, some acid cleaners are not appropriate as the surface may be acid sensitive - for example polished marble or limestone. In these cases Skavenja™ is ideal. This is an alkaline product suitable for all surfaces including those affected by acids. The product is applied to the surface neat or diluted and with some agitation. The efflorescence or fresh grout is dissolved into insoluble complexes that form small suspended particles that can be flushed away with water.
