DesignEx 2011 New Dates, New Features, New Reasons to Attend!

Australasia's leading event for the interior, architecture and design industries - designEX - announces its dates for the 2011 event along with exciting new developments.

"In its 23rd year designEX visitors will discover a revitalised exhibition, intended to inspire commercial and residential interior designers and architects," says Danielle Fischer from Diversified Exhibitions, the company behind the event. "We've taken action on several fronts to refine and develop Australasia's biggest interior architecture and design event, ensuring it remains influential, dynamic, and entertaining."

Signposting these changes are the launch of a new marketing campaign which includes an updated logo and website, not to mention a restructured floor plan and numerous new features to pique visitors' interest.

"Focus in 2011 returns to the specialist design trade," explains Ms Fischer. "designEX will no longer be open on Saturday and will no longer coincide with Form & Function."

Major elements of the 2011 programme are already in place including information sessions presented by international and local experts in design. The KeyNote Series in 2011 will include some of the industry's finest from both the Europe and USA, all familiar with dealing with an international client base.

Further 'real life' stories are shared in 'Live Profiling' where the architects and designers behind some of Australia's most notable projects speak candidly about the challenges they faced while completing these works.

'Architectural Radar' is another innovation - an interactive architectural experience highlighting new practices in the industry today which will be highly instructional and inspiring.

The Mystery Box Challenge, sponsored by Hettich, sees four new designers in the field dive into a mystery box of 10 materials in order to design a product for the bathroom, all within a three-day deadline.

designEX 2011 also sees visitors access the designEX New Product Awards showcase, 'Decor' - a celebration of soft furnishings, textiles and decorative accessories, and daily workshops and trend presentations produced via collaboration between designEX, Eussen Consulting and Boston Publishing.
