Continuing its commitment to revitalise, extend and progress its scope and importance, designEX unveils yet another new feature for 2011 visitors. Dècor is a platform for the soft furnishings, blinds and accessory industries which will bring the best and broadest product selection to savvy local interior designers and decorators.

“Research undertaken at last year's event made it clear we needed to significantly build the interiors showcase for 2011,” says Danielle Fischer from Diversified Exhibitions. “We are now entering the 23rd year for designEX and we are serious about maintaining the event's market-leading edge in the Australasian region.

“Countless interior designers and decorators declared they would rush to a precinct at designEX that gathered, in one location, the latest, quirkiest and greatest products on the market today. This one-stop-shop, where they can see, touch, learn about and buy products such products as these, is what we've created with Dècor.”

The Dècor precinct will have its own dedicated workshop and seminar stage covering decorating topics such as sustainability, global trends, paints and finishes and wall art, plus numerous sessions dedicated to textiles and textile trends.

Confirmed speakers include Jo Lamble, Channel 7's Sunrise resident psychologist, who will discuss the benefits of a balanced interior on the human psyche. Also confirmed is interior designer, Claudia Chan Shaw, who will discuss movements in art and their influence on today's design trends.

Other key elements of the 2011 designEX programme include the 'KeyNote Series', featuring acclaimed experts from Europe and the USA, alongside local speakers. 'Live Profiling' with the architects and designers behind some of Australia's most notable projects speaking candidly and 'Architectural Radar' where visitors can have an interactive architectural experience that highlights new practices in the industry today. There is also the Mystery Box Challenge and the designEX New Product Awards showcase.
