Australia's own Wilson Fabrics, established in Melbourne in 1926, continues to reinforce its reputation with the debut of the Wilson Studio Collection to designEX 2011 attendees.

This coordinating range of drapery and blind fabrics, created with the Australian design market in mind, revisits classic themes with contemporary flair and features elegant and sophisticated details and finishes, using refined fabrics.

On display at designEX will be 'Francesca', a luxurious fabric with a beautiful draping which gently filters light and creates a sense of weightlessness. The fabric is yarn dyed with a slight metallic sheen; beautiful in its simplicity.

'Francesca' is made up of a high twisted special yarn, resulting in a soft handle and silk-like appearance made all the more notable by the fabric's 100 per cent polyester composition. Inherently Flame Retardant (FR) properties cannot be washed or warn out compared to FR treated fabrics. Flame Retardancy is compulsory in nearly all commercial applications, making Francesca ideal for both domestic and commercial applications.

'Francesca' is Oeko-Tex Certified, which means it has passed rigorous testing by independent testing institutes and it contains no harmful substances.

Also released for the first time will be Wilson's 'Lava' blind fabric, Australian Made and featuring a contemporary retro inspired design. It is available in translucent and block-out options with the block-out boasting superior Australian coating that surpasses Australian standards. Consumers can have a coordinating day/night option by utilising both on their windows, using the translucent fabric for privacy while allowing in natural light and the block-out for reducing heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer.

'Lava' is protected by Teflon fabric protector which makes it easier to keep fabrics looking fresh and clean without impacting on the fabric's weight, look, feel, colour or breathability. Once again these products include inherent Flame Retardant (FR) properties in their benefits and are Oeko-Tex Certified.

Wilson Fabrics will be showcasing many new designer drapery and blind fabrics at DesignEx, catering to traditional, contemporary and modern tastes.
