Architecturally Styled Curved Folding Doors for Commercial Application by ATDC
ATDC has installed its architecturally designed curved folding doors to secure the curved reception counter at The North Melbourne Primary School in Victoria. This project required a custom solution to accommodate both a unique radius curve and a stepped counter height. Security was achieved with a series of up/down locks, eliminating the need for a floor track on the counter. A continuous overhead support beam was installed to suspend the door weight, which is approximately 12 kg per square meter. Designed for both functionality and aesthetics, these folding doors allow ventilation and airflow through the mesh infill while maintaining maximum visibility. When not in use, they fold away seamlessly, making them nearly invisible. The doors can reach heights of up to 4500mm, and their span is unlimited. For this project, Brand Architects specified the doors, while Ayjay Construction managed the project build.
The doors were supplied in a black satin powder-coated finish, though pearl white is also a standard option. Custom colours from the Dulux Duralloy range are available upon request, subject to additional costs and lead time. ATDC offers a 12-month warranty against defective materials and workmanship, ensuring quality and durability in every installation.
