Confined Space Crane Solutions with Preston Mini Crawler Cranes

Problem:
Our customer All Points Glass was brought onto the job site far too late, the design of the building a Honda car dealership had a spoiler not that much different from one on a formula one car except a lot bigger constructed on the roof of the building. Unfortunately underneath the spoiler on the roof 4 metre glass sunroof panes of glass had to be fitted.

Solution:
We went to site to inspect the problem and found a method to install the glass with a minimum of fuss. It required us to take measurements and then recreate the scenario in our Sunshine West depot and run the crane through the scenario to make certain we could meet All Points requirements safely and with a minimum of fuss. After we had done this we realised that the MC405C2 Mini Crawler Crane would be the best machine to safely and efficiently lift the glass into the constricted space. This meant that we would have to lift the glass with a glass lifting sucker straight up and then curve the glass up through the hole and then rotate and lower it flat onto the framework underneath the spoiler.
