In March of 2022 when devastating floods ravaged Queensland and northern NSW, a callout was made on a community social media page to help rescue a cow that became stuck in mud in the Currumbin Valley area. An emergency crane operator from Preston Hire heeded the call to help rescue the helpless livestock!

Adam, the long-term crane operator from Preston Hire, used the company's Supercrane™ 405 to perform the unusual task of rescuing the cow from its predicament. Using the high-performance mini-crane, Adam lifted the cow out of the mud to safety and eventually recovered. Preston Hire is incredibly proud of Adam for being able to help the community during this instance.

The Supercrane™ 405 from Preston Hire is one of the most powerful machines in the Maeda mini crane range. Measuring 1380mm wide when stowed and weighing only 5720kg, it can lift up to an outstanding 3.83 tonne of weight. It can also perform a lifting height of up to 21m using the fly jib with extraordinary manoeuvrability and flexibility. No wonder it was easy for Adam to perform this peculiar livestock rescue!
