Waterproofing at Kirribilli by Projex

"Admiralty Gardens" at 5 Peel St in Kirribilli is an 8-story block of units built some 30 years ago. The block has panoramic views from the Harbour Bridge through to the Opera House, Fort Denison and Rose Bay.

The roof has 2 failed waterproofing systems on it (an acrylic and a bitumen sheet - done at different times in the buildings lifespan - allowing water into the top units below.

Architect, Alexander Tzannes, has been retained by the Body Corporate to design and co-ordinate the conversion of the roof to an entertainment area to utilise the spectacular views.

The roof was waterproofed using Wolfin S self-adhesive membrane - after removal of both layers of old membranes and a protective topping layer between the membranes. After the membrane application pavers on pads were placed over the top to allow the free flow of water over the membrane. This system minimises the weight load on the roof whilst also having a cooling effect on the building and giving a smart appearance to the whole roof deck.

Haramis Waterproofing, experienced licensed Wolfin Applicators, were engaged to install the waterproofing to the building.

The Wolfin System was chosen because of its proven track record and reliability in Sydney as well as its resistance to salt and its flexibility over existing structures.
