Waterproofing Walls and Floors for Tiling Video with MDC Mosaics
How to waterproof walls and floors for tiling 1. Surfaces should be clean and dry 2. Walls should be pre-treated with Primer G diluted with water - 1 part Primer G to 2 parts water. Then wait until dry. 3. Use Mapeband waterproof rubber strip between wall and floor and all connecting walls. Mapeband needs a layer of Mapegum WPS under as well as over the mesh to ensure it is embedded. 4. Mapegum WPS can be applied by trowel, brush or roller and is to be applied in an even thin coat of less than 1mm. Wait 1-2 hours between coats and apply further coats crossways. The final thickness of Mapegum WPS must be more than 1mm. 5. After 12 24 hours from applying the final coat of Mapegum WPS, the surface is ready for laying ceramic tiles, natural stone or mosaic tiles. 6. MDC Mosaics has the necessary data sheet for this product that should be read before use of Mapegum WPS.
