Rubber-Tracked Mobile Crane from Preston

crane construction site

A rubber-tracked mobile crane from Preston (QLD) gave Hutchinson Builders "excellent maneuverability and flexibility" on a tight construction site.

Hutchinson builders are currently carrying out construction of The Midtown Apartments, a 28-storey residential development located in the heart of Brisbane's CBD.

Preston (QLD) was engaged to help Hutchinson Builders stress pretension strings within the slab layers of the mixed-use development by lifting and positioning a hydraulic jack over the back podium level facade. With access too narrow to use a scissor or boom lift, a mobile crane with superior lifting capability was required to do the job. Site manager Peter Haidley explained that, "We needed a mobile crane, so we called Preston".

"We were impressed how much it could lift, despite being so small. It was really handy because it helped us to do the work we needed to, without being too cumbersome and taking up a lot of space", he added.

The Maeda MC-305, which can be hired across Preston Groups' branch network, is 1280mm wide when stowed and weights only 3770 kg. It offers superior lifting capacity and also comes with the optional flexibility of applying a searcher hook.

With the largest fleet of mobile cranes and crawlers in Australia, Preston Group is your project partner when it comes to narrow access area construction.
