Ezytube is proud to be selected as the preferred supplier of the concrete column forming tubes at the Barangaroo headland Project.
The resulting structure is both an exceptional engineering feat as well as being an iconic location for both Sydney siders and visitors to enjoy.
Barangaroo Point is a spectacular new six hectare headland park located in the Sydney CBD. It includes two coves, a continuous naturalistic sandstone foreshore, 75,000 native fauna and an internal cultural space landscaped into the headland.
From the outside, the headland looks like a natural botanical garden, however beneath the landscape is an impressive concrete cavern with monstrous internal concrete columns formed using Ezytube Formwork technologies. This area, with an impressive sandstone cliff and natural sunlight beaming in from the perimeter of the structure, will become a future cultural centre.

Ezytube column forms were selected by the formwork contractor, BKH Group to form the impressive 1200mm diameter concrete columns, as they required a product with a proven ability to withstand the high pressure exerted during the concrete pour process, whilst also ensuring the highest standard in surface finish on these impressive round concrete columns.
The internal structure is approximately 140mtrs long by 50mtrs wide, and the concrete roof measures 16mtrs in height at its peak.
20 x concrete columns were to be poured ranging in heights from 12mtrs to 15mtrs. The first pour measured 8mtrs in height, and the Ezytube forms were manufactured so that the upper 100mm was easily and evenly removed after the concrete set exposing a secure “kicker” for the second tube to be placed over. The second pour was then performed, and the joining method employed was designed to ensure that high standard of surface finish would also be achieved on the pour joint.

The completed structure is another leading edge iconic Australian construction project utilising the innovative products developed and supplied by proudly 100% Australian owned and operated, Ezytube Pty Ltd.
