Woven Fibreglass fabrics offer the best control over thickness, weight and strength. Fabricators can choose from a wide range of fabrics to satisfy their design needs and meet specific objectives.

Filament Fibreglass yarn

Fibreglass yarn is thin and smooth. It contains a light twist and is made from continuous filament yarns. This yarn is used to weave tight, thin fabrics with a smooth finish. After weaving, fabrics are often processed further to increase fabric properties.

Fabrics woven with filament fiberglass are available in weights ranging from 100g/m2 to 2000g/m2. Stainless steel wire reinforced fibreglass fabrics are also produced where additional strength is required.

Texturised Fibreglass yarn

Our Texturised fibreglass fabrics are woven using texturised E-glass yarns with a 9µm or a 6µm diameter. The yarn is put through an air-bulking process, increasing the yarns volume and thickness. Fabrics woven with texturised yarn are much thicker than those woven with filament yarn. With this extra thickness Texturised fibreglass fabrics offer an increased thermal rating. They are highly suitable to thermal insulation applications.

These fabrics are often further coated or impregnated with various chemicals to enhance fabric properties.
