Lightweight Concrete Planter Boxes - Ideal for Terrace Houses

Space is an issue in Sydney's inner suburbs - particularly space for gardens. The photo above shows our GRC Planter Boxes installed in a small alcove in a terrace house in Sydney's Inner West.

The Architect and Owner wanted to bring light into the narrow house, creating a void on the northern boundary adjacent to the open plan living area. The space allowed for a small garden and after looking at all the options, they selected Mascot's GRC Planters due to their strength and ease of installation. The Planters where carried through the house and passed through a bi-fold window into place - drainage holes where installed (simply using a hammer), and they where finished to match the surrounding brickwork.

Mascot's Glass Reinforced Concrete (GRC) Planter Boxes are cost effective and simple to install. Ideal for use on verandahs or when site access is difficult, their lightweight nature assures convenience.

GRC is a composite of concrete and fiberglass technologies. It has the benefits of both products: the solidity of concrete and the high instantaneous strength of resin fibreglass.

GRC's absence of steel reinforcement makes it ideal for use under normally corrosive conditions, and has a resistance to chemical attack far greater than traditional concrete.

Planters are available in various shapes and sizes to suit most applications, including freestanding, wall mounted, cavity mounted and in-ground.

Due to continual development, we recommend you contact the sales team for a complete list of standard sizes. Alternatively, we can discuss your specific requirements, design and manufacture Planter Boxes for your situation.

Mascot Engineering has locations in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth... we can freight all over Australia, and being approximately 1/10th the weight of traditional concrete, the cost is considerably less.
