Two FLC200 series projectors from WE-EF win awards in the Focus Open 2017 - including gold. The FLC230-CC LED colour changer projector also received the distinction "Winner" in the German Design Award 2018.
For years luminaires from WE-EF have featured a consistently functional design language that is carefully composed down to the last detail and combines maximum functionality with timeless elegance. The list of projects where the FLC200 series has been installed, and a whole host of design awards, show that the specialist for exterior lighting is on the right track. Two further awards are now being added to this list.

The FLC230-CC LED projector received the distinction "Winner" in the German Design Award 2018 and received a Special Mention in the Focus Open 2017.
At the German Design Award, the top international prize awarded by the German Design Council, the jury chose the FLC230-CC LED colour changer projector as a "Winner." The German Design Award established in 2012 is one of the most renowned design contests worldwide and is highly regarded far beyond expert circles.
At the International Design Award Baden-Württemberg 2017 - called Focus Open for short - the six-member jury, all of whom are designers themselves, awarded prizes to two products in the FLC200 projector series. The FLC230-CC LED colour changer projector received a Special Mention while its larger brother, the FLC240 LED, won gold. Both projectors, which were designed by WE-EF product designer Petra Denst, open up new possibilities for dynamic presentation in architectural lighting.

In the Focus Open 2017 the exclusive distinction "Gold" was only awarded 13 times and on 13 October 2017 it was presented to the winners at an award ceremony at the Scala theatre in Ludwigsburg. (Photo: Reiner Pfisterer)
In their assessments, the jury not only emphasised the balanced proportions of the housing and the heat sinks integrated as a design feature; they also recognised the high quality of the technical concept with its well-conceived lens system, which prevents stray light and uniformly distributes light with different beam characteristics. For example, in the assessment of the FLC240 LED, which won gold in the Focus Open Architecture category, the jury said: "The overall proportions of the housing are very well balanced; the fully visible heat sinks give the luminaire an appropriate technical character - and they visualise the high light output."
The International Design Award Baden-Württemberg is organised by the Design Center Baden-Württemberg every year and awards prizes for outstanding design in different product categories, including lighting and architecture. The award from the Design Center Baden-Württemberg shows that good design also pays off for small and medium-sized companies - as demonstrated by WE-EF.
