WE-EF product ranges expanded to include 2700 K options.

The 2700 K Range
WE-EF has recently expanded its product ranges to include 2700 K options.

2700 K is a warmer correlated colour temperature (CCT) with less light in the blue spectrum when compared with a 3000 K light source. The colour rendering index CRI of 80 is standard for all colour temperatures WE-EF offers, this includes our recently added 2700 K CCT variants. IES files for each colour temperature are available on our website for accurate lighting simulations.

With an ever-increasing awareness of the potential negative effects of artificial light at night, and as the first Australian company to have its products certified by ADSA (Australasian Dark Sky Alliance), the expansion of 2700 K across the WE-EF product range further demonstrates our commitment to pursuing night sensitive lighting. The addition provides greater versatility, placing even more emphasis on lighting those areas that specifically need it and in an environmentally sensitive way.

When lighting an area such as a length of path surrounded by areas of notable ecological significance, 2700 K can represent a positive compromise between ensuring the feeling of safety for people, whilst minimising the effects on the surrounding ecology. The advancement in LED lighting technology and the range of colour temperatures available, when used with luminaires that utilise lenses, essentially allows for better lighting control. This control enables designers the ability to place lighting precisely where it is required, be it functional or feature, and whilst minimising unnecessary spill light.

For example, combining the warmer temperature of 2700 K together with a full cut-off luminaire that presents no direct up-light, together with the use of lenses technology that minimises unnecessary spill light, will result in a fewer luminaires being required with lighting that is placed only where it is required.

The 2020 WE-EF catalogue highlights all product ranges wherein which the 2700 K option is now available.
